According to the requirements of Article 4.3.4 of the "Code for Fire Protection Design of Buildings", the requirements for installation of liquid oxygen storage tanks in hospitals have been made; the fire separation distance between liquid oxygen storage tanks and buildings, storage tanks, storage yards, etc. should comply with this code Article 4.3.3 stipulates the fire separation distance of the corresponding volumetric wet oxygen storage tank. The distance between the liquid oxygen storage tank and its pump room should not be less than 3m. The fire separation distance between the liquid oxygen storage tank with a total volume of less than or equal to 3m³ and its building shall meet the following requirements:

   1 When installed in an independent special building with Class I or II fire resistance, the fire separation distance shall not be less than 10m;

   2 When it is installed in an independent special building with Class I or II fire resistance, and the side facing the building is separated by a firewall without doors and windows openings, the fire separation distance is not limited;

   3 When fire prevention measures are taken for the liquid oxygen storage tank stored at low temperature, the fire separation distance shall not be less than 5m.

The liquid oxygen storage tanks of medical liquid oxygen storage tanks and gas source stations in medical and health institutions shall meet the following requirements:

   1 The volume of a single tank should not be greater than 5m³, and the total volume should not be greater than 20m³;

   2 The distance between adjacent storage tanks should not be less than 0.75 times the diameter of the largest storage tank;

   3 The fire separation distance between the medical liquid oxygen storage tank and the building outside the medical and health institution should meet the requirements of Article 4.3.3 of this code, and the fire separation distance between the medical liquid oxygen storage tank and the building inside the medical and health institution should meet the current national standard "Technical Specification for Medical Gas Engineering" GB 50751 regulations.


  When determining the fire separation distance between the liquid oxygen storage tank and other buildings, storage tanks or storage yards, the volume of the liquid oxygen storage tank should be converted into 800m³ standard oxygen based on the volume of 1m³ liquid oxygen. If a factory has a 100m³ liquid oxygen storage tank, first convert it into 800×100=80000 (m³) oxygen, and then determine it according to the third grade (V>50000m³) of Article 4.3.3 of this code Fire separation distance of liquid oxygen storage tank.
